Our Story
Handtiques was founded by a single mother, Diana LeBlanc, with a single goal in mind… to earn extra cash to put her daughter, Jennifer, through college. From dumpster diving for abandoned furniture to painting snowmen on wine bottles, these girls had fun. Art shows were a huge part of life for this mother/daughter team, selling everything from antique furniture, collectibles, hand painted glass, painted tee shirts to other handmade crafts. The experience for both mom and daughter created a bond that is still so strong today. For several years Handtiques took a back seat to life, but it was never forgotten. Creativity and flea market finds were always part of decorating and fun.
Handtiques entered its next chapter when Diana, recently retired, got the itch again to get back into the business, but this time it’s even better. Three generations are now involved and having fun, and her husband Rick is right in the middle of it.
With the support of friends and family, getting this passion up and running was a snap. Gathering unwanted furniture, old wicker baskets, dishes, glassware, and other collectibles allowed for this business owner to create new connections with old friends.
Handtiques joined a lively antique store, “The Barn Door Antiques” in Rosenberg, Texas. The Barn Door is so much more than antiques and it has been a great home for us so make plans to visit soon.
